Happy World Snake Day! 🐍

Today we celebrate one of nature's most misunderstood animals.

Snakes play a vital role in our environment by controlling rodent populations, helping to protect crops, reduce the spread of disease, and maintain a healthy ecosystem. Most snakes are shy, avoid people, and will only bite if they feel threatened.

If you see a snake:

✅ Stay calm and keep your distance.
✅ Never try to catch, kill, or handle it.
✅ Keep children and pets away.
✅ Contact a qualified snake rescuer to safely relocate it if necessary.

Remember:
🐍 Every snake has an important place in nature.
Killing snakes not only harms biodiversity but can also disrupt the natural balance of our environment.

Given the current inclement weather across Nelson Mandela Bay, our disaster response partner, Gift of the Givers, is once again on the ground assisting vulnerable communities.

The Chamber is serving as a designated drop-off site for any donations. We humbly encourage those who are able to contribute to support relief efforts during this time.

Donations needed:
- Non perishable foods
- Toiletries i.e feminine hygiene products
- Blankets/Mattress
- Diapers (Adults & Babies)
