Join us for our annual Pomegranate Festival, a relaxed morning on the farm celebrating everything pomegranate!

Visitors can sample a variety of pomegranate cultivars at our tasting station, or take part in a pomegranate picking scavenger hunt, where you’ll follow clues through the orchards to find and pick the perfect fruit while learning more about how pomegranates are grown.

This year we’re also hosting “Coffee and Conversations”, a series of informal talks with knowledgeable guest speakers sharing insights into pomegranate farming and research. These sessions are open to growers, sellers, buyers, and anyone curious to learn something new about this remarkable fruit.

At 8:30am, guests can join a 4km fun run or walk around the farm, which is family- and pet-friendly and a great way to experience the orchards and fresh country air.

There will also be plenty for children to enjoy, including activities and pony rides, along with delicious food stalls and a smoothie and juice bar to keep everyone refreshed.

Bring your friends, family, dogs, and curiosity, and enjoy a festive morning celebrating pomegranates in the beautiful surroundings of the farm!

We feel incredibly grateful to see our Pomegranate Festival featured in The Atlantic Gull! Thank you for sharing our story and helping us celebrate this special season on the farm.

On 21 March, we open our gates for a day dedicated to all things pomegranate, from fresh tastings, to delicious food stalls, relaxed farm wandering, and plenty to keep the little ones busy.

Entry is free, and everyone is welcome. Whether you’re a local family, a curious foodie, visiting the area, or simply in need of a wholesome day on a farm, we’d love to have you join us.

Join us on Saturday, 21 March, from 8am to 1pm for our Pomegranate Festival!

You can pick your own pomegranates straight from the trees, stock up on fresh fruit and vegetables at our farm stall, taste a few different pomegranate varieties, and more. There’ll be delicious food and drinks, a fun run/walk to start the day, lovely stalls to browse, and plenty to keep the kids busy with KidZone.

Entry is free, with some ticketed activities available on the day.

Bring the kids, bring your friends, bring the dogs - everyone’s welcome. It’s the perfect excuse to slow down, enjoy the farm vibes, and spend a good morning together.

We blinked and January was already over! This year has been quite a whirlwind so far - there is so much going on! We’ve been planting and harvesting veggies, preparing for our upcoming pomegranate and naartjie harvest, dealing with water pipe issues and planning for our Pomegranate Festival, which will be on 21 March! The festival falls right into our pomegranate harvest season, which means visitors will have a chance to pick their own pomegranates! We can’t wait!

There’s so much to look forward to at the Houdconstant Farm Christmas Market this Saturday, 13 December! 🎄

Bring the family and enjoy a day on the farm! There will be pony rides, a fun photo scavenger hunt with a great prize up for grabs, and plenty to keep the kids busy. Kidzone will be there with face painting, art activities, balloons and more.

You can wander between our inside and outside stalls, meet some of the friendly farm animals, and enjoy the relaxed farm atmosphere under the trees. There will be lots of food and drinks, plus plenty of places to sit. Picnic blankets welcome!

Shoppers can look forward to a wonderful mix of stalls, including thrift clothing, second-hand books, handmade wooden items, locally made leather bags, plants, and loads of other great finds.

Furry friends on leashes are welcome! 🐕

We can’t wait to see you on the farm!

Only a few sleeps left until the Houdconstant Farm Christmas Market, and the food alone is worth the trip!

As always, there will be a selection of farm produce to choose from, including the freshest green beans, watermelons, bright baby peppers, berries, and plenty more seasonal goodness.

Whether you want to take food home or enjoy a picnic at the market, our vendors have a lot to offer!

- Die Broodhuis will be there with their beautiful sourdough creations
- Die Pers Tafel will have a selection of tasty meals
- Githa’s Indian Foods will have a selection of spring rolls, samosas and more to choose from
- GutsyCulture will be offering their refreshing kombucha for anyone wanting a healthy kick.
- Berg Coffee will be there for the caffeine lovers
- The Widow's Jar returns with their organic pasture-raised eggs and all the pantry goodies
- Don’t forget to stop by Andante Olive Oil to taste their award-winning local olive oil
Of course, there’ll also be plenty of cookies and treats to take home.

Join us on 13 December from 8am until 2pm for our Christmas Market at Houdconstant Farm! Expect a relaxed, festive day with food and drink stalls, crafts, kids’ activities, gifts, fresh produce and plenty of farm atmosphere. There will be a fun scavenger hunt, a beautiful selection of thrift clothing to browse, and much more. Entry is free, and while we’ll have lots of seating, you’re welcome to bring a picnic blanket! Pets on leashes are welcome. Looking forward to a great day on the farm!
