The Milk Producers’ Organisation is proud to celebrate a valuable partnership with Clover South Africa and Standard Bank in support of the dairy industry.

Through this collaboration, we have secured a truck dedicated to assist in the distribution of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccines - a critical step in protecting our national herd and supporting farmers during this challenging time.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Clover and Standard Bank for their commitment, partnership, and shared vision for a resilient and sustainable dairy sector.

Together, we are making a meaningful difference where it matters most.

We’re still mooooooving!

Western Cape:
Good news for farmers in the Western Cape: 100 000 FMD vaccine doses arrived at Cape Town International Airport last night, and vaccinations across the province continued this morning. The vaccines were urgently transported from Gauteng after the Shoprite South Africa stepped in and flew them to Cape Town using their company aircraft. MPO - Milk Producers Organisation Western Cape also assisted with coordinating the logistics to ensure the vaccines reached the province as quickly as possible.

A big thank you to Dairy Management Consulting, the Western Cape Government and everyone involved in making this rapid response possible. 🐄✈️

Eastern Cape:
A further 152 000 Dollvet FMD vaccine doses was released from OBP this morning for continued vaccination in the Eastern Cape. Dairy farmers are receiving 50 000 doses from this batch. These vaccines will be delivered to Vetserv in Port Elizabeth, from where they will be distributed to private veterinarians to support vaccination efforts in the province. 🐄💉

A huge thank you to Murray Versfeld from Waikato South Africa for sponsoring the courier costs of the vaccines from Onderstepoort to PE, enabling fast and secure delivery of much needed vaccines.

KwaZulu-Natal:
An Orange Grove Dairy truck was loaded with 140 boxes of FMD vaccines at OBP this morning. The shipment, containing 560 000 doses, is currently on its way to KwaZulu-Natal. Of these, 160 000 doses have been secured for the dairy industry and will be administered in three priority districts: uMgungundlovu, Amajuba and uMzinyathi, as part of ongoing efforts to support vaccination programmes and protect dairy herds. 🐄🚚

And we are on the mooooove! 🐄🚛

This morning, our first trucks officially departed carrying 50 000 Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) vaccine doses to the Harry Gwala District Municipality, delivering critical vaccines to our trusted partner veterinary practices:
• EG Veterinary Services
• Underberg Vets
• Two Rivers Vets

This marks an important step in strengthening our collective response to FMD and supporting farmers on the ground where it matters most.

A sincere thank you to our valued sponsors, Orange Grove Dairy and FNB whose support has made this intervention possible.

Here’s to safe travels, efficient rollouts, and many more shipments to follow as we work together to protect our cattle and safeguard the sustainability of our livestock sector.

As we enter 2026, the dairy industry stands at a defining moment.
The past few years have tested our resilience, but they’ve also proven our ability to adapt.

The January issue of explores why precision resilience must now define our path forward: from regenerative grazing and data-led herd decisions to biosecurity, traceability, and verifiable sustainability metrics. Technology and environmental responsibility are no longer parallel conversations - they are converging.

For milk producers, this is the year where efficiency, trust, and evidence matter more than ever.
