Amanda's Bakery is a family business that was inspired by a remarkable woman who cared unconditionally for her fellow human beings. Marthie Coertzen started baking fruit cake in 1959 to support her family in very difficult financial times. She unfortunately broke her leg at age 83 and called on her daughter-in-law, Amanda, to assist her with all the outstanding orders for the year. Amanda Coertzen

started baking fruit cake in 2011, also to assist her family financially and is using the same good tasting 64-year-old recipe while carrying the legacy forward to the next generation. By the grace of God and Amanda's caring heart and love for people, Amanda's Bakery has expanded to 64 different homemade products such as Brownies, Date Balls, Lepelsteeltjies, Chocolate Cookie Fudge, Sweet Snacks, Biscuits & Rusks, Gluten Free products and even Ginger Beer. Amanda has a heart for those with disabilities and annually donates between 15% and 20% of Amanda's Bakery's turnover at Christmas markets to disadvantaged people and welfare organizations.
