Join our knowledgeable horticulturist, Richard Arm, for a guided walk through the estate’s spectacular gardens, where you’ll uncover the history behind some of our most remarkable plantings, gain fascinating horticultural insights and take home expert gardening tips.

Your morning begins at Firehorse with a freshly baked scone and a cup of tea or coffee before setting off to explore the gardens.

Behind every remarkable vintage is a w**emaker, and behind every w**emaker is a story. 🍷

For Vergelegen w**emaker Luke O’Cuinneagain, that story began in the Constantia Valley, where time spent working at Buitenverwachting and Constantia Uitsig sparked a love for w**emaking strong enough to change the course of his career.

Leaving behind plans to pursue veterinary school, Luke chose instead to study Oenology at Stellenbosch University, earning a B.Sc. Agric. (Viticulture and Oenology) Honours degree.

His journey has since taken him through some remarkable cellars around the world, including Rustenburg, Château de Fieuzal, Château Angelus, Caves Robert Dietrich and Screaming Eagle in California.

Before joining Vergelegen, Luke spent more than a decade as w**emaker at the French-inspired Glenelly Estate in Stellenbosch, where his w**es became known for their power, elegance and balance.

Today, he brings those years of experience to Vergelegen, together with a passion for w**e and a dedication to creating remarkable vintages.

A journey shaped by experience, guided by passion and expressed through w**e.

There’s something rather special happening across the farm. 🌿

Spring has brought new life to Vergelegen, quite literally.
Tiny calves are finding their feet amongst our Nguni cattle, young quaggas are exploring their surroundings, and across the estate, new life is appearing in the most unexpected places.

These are the moments that make you stop. A wobbly first step. A mother keeping watch nearby. A little face peeking through the landscape. Small reminders that nature is constantly writing its own story here.

And this spring, we’d love for you to become part of it.

🌸 We’re tickled pink this September.

Perhaps it started with a glass of Florence Rosé. Or perhaps spring simply has us noticing just how many shades of pink are appearing around Vergelegen.

The soft pink blooms opening across the estate. The delicate rose notes of vanilla and rose tea at the Rose Terrace. A blush of pink stretching across the sky as the sun begins to set. And, of course, that beautiful glass of Florence Rosé catching the spring light. 🩷🍷

September has a way of bringing colour back into the landscape and reminding us to notice the beautiful little details along the way.
