Join us at Riverbend Art and Wine Gallery on Wednesday, 2nd September for a very special evening of wine, chocolate and good company.

We’re delighted to welcome Jeremy Maaschalk from the renowned Waterford Wine Estate, famous for its exceptional wines and innovative wine-and-chocolate pairings.

Enjoy a carefully curated tasting of Waterford’s distinctive wines, paired with artisanal chocolates chosen to complement and enhance each wine. Light canapés will also be served alongside selected wines.

Riverbend Art & Wine Gallery is delighted to be hosting an evening with the remarkable Survivor Wines on Friday 26th of June, with this month’s tasting taking place at the beautiful Southbroom Golf Club.

Hosted by wine enthusiast & raconteur Howard Kelly, we’ll be exploring 7 gorgeous wines from the Survivor stable.
Inspired by the tale of a determined Nguni cow that leapt off a truck & into the vineyards on its way to market - a fitting emblem for wines with character and a fierce spirit of adventure!

Crafted by acclaimed winemaker Pierre Wahl - affectionately known in wine circles as the “Pope of Pinotage” - these terroir-driven wines (reflecting the influence of soil, climate and place) celebrate the richness of South Africa’s diverse wine regions.
From bold Swartland reds to elegant cool-climate whites from Elgin and Stellenbosch, Pierre is renowned for crafting wines that truly express where they come from.

The tasting will be accompanied by a selection of delicious pizzas, making for a relaxed evening of great wines, good stories & lively company.

Friday 25 June from 6pm till 8 pm
Southbroom Golf Club.

What a treat last night's wine tasting was!

Songs, stories & exceptional wines flowed as we journeyed through the wonderfully unconventional world of Orpheus & the Raven' - a winery that proudly marches to the beat of its own drum.

Winemaker, Etienne Louw was an absolute breath of fresh air: engineer, self-made winemaker, trained classical guitarist, and delightfully free of wine-world pretence!

His tales wandered from vineyard adventures to colourful Afrikaans idioms, punctuated by laughter, insight & the kind of authenticity that can't be manufactured.
The wines themselves were every bit as original...
The award-winning labels, created by business partner Brendan Schwartz, are gorgeous works of art in their own right - layered with symbolism, meaningful numbers & hidden, quirky details.

And then.... Etienne treated us to beautifully played instrumental guitar pieces between tastings, with music chosen to complement each wine. From Johnny Clegg to Metallica to the blues, it became a feast for the ears as well as the palate!

A full house, hearty soups, fresh breads, memorable wines & plenty of laughter
