🌿 New field guide is up: **The Wild Pharmacy**

The soil beneath our feet holds a living apothecary, but the first rule is not romance. It’s restraint.

This guide walks through the four-step Wild Pharmacy loop: identify, harvest, extract, concoct. Before anything is gathered, the plant has to be properly named and verified. In the brush, toxic lookalikes are the Minotaur: close enough to tempt a careless reach, dangerous enough to make guessing a terrible idea.

So this one is about plant knowledge, yes — but also about attention, ecological manners, and learning how to move through the wild without taking more than the system can spare.

It has been a season of massive transitions, a lot of mud, and aggressively building something new.

I’m so excited to finally share a proper look at Saraloosa! 🌿🐾

Nestled in Tesselaarsdal in the Overberg, my little farm is officially stepping into its next chapter as a working farm and community space. It’s an ongoing experiment in sustainable living, and home to our 38 incredible rescue dogs.

We are deep in the building phase right now, and we’re opening up a few ways for people to get involved and escape the city:
✨ Camp at Saraloosa: We are developing rustic, off-grid camping sites surrounded by dams and mountain views.
✨ Skills Trade / Volunteering: Handy with a hammer or permaculture? We’re offering stays in our wooden cottages in exchange for hands-on help around the farm.
✨ Host an Event: Our giant 24x36m barn is a blank canvas for yoga retreats, workshops, or community events.
