The winter hibernation has been lovely and snug. As the days and sunlight hours lengthen, so the daisies and oxalis flowers have spring up on the Village Green which means it's almost time for the Stanford Sunset Market. It's also time for Stanford in Bloom when the whole village gets into spring mood to celebrate the change of season, flowers, fynbos and Leon Kluge's Chelsea Flowers in the village. In honour of all blooming things, there will be 2 sunset markets in September, both with slightly extended hours so that visitors and locals can soak up every moment. Watch this space for highlights and news of musicians and celebrity visitors who will kuier around our fire in September.

That was an epic Western Cape storm, wasn't it? Before we wrap up for winter, there is time for one last hurrah on the Village Green as the Stanford Sunset Market closes its season on 29 May from 6-8pm. See you there for some of the best local food, music and people as we celebrate the end of autumn with lush red wines, crisp craft beer and steaming mugs of gluhwein. All welcome. Dress warmly for after sunset.
