🍞🎀 Cheesy Beer Bread
•500 g self-raising flour (because kneading is a commitment and we’re not here for that)
•Salt & pepper (season like you mean it, but don’t get emotional)
•250 ml grated cheese
•Onion (optional)
•1 beer (340 ml) (not for drinking… yet. Try to focus.)
1) Preheat the oven
Set your oven to 180°C.
Grease a loaf tin, unless you enjoy chiselling bread out of metal like an archaeologist.
2) Mix the dry things
In a big bowl, combine: •flour•salt•pepper
3) Add the delicious distractions
Throw in:
•grated cheese
•onion (if you want to be that person)
Mix again. Congratulations, you’re basically a chef now.
4) Add the beer
Pour in the 340 ml beer - Do not overmix. This is bread, not a CrossFit session.
5) Pan it
Spoon the mixture into your greased loaf tin. Brush the top with melted butter before baking for a glorious crust.
6) Bake it
Bake for 45–55 minutes, until golden brown.
If you tap the top and it sounds hollow, it’s done.
If you burn it, call it “extra caramelised” and act offended when questioned.
7) Cool (briefly, for safety… allegedly)
Let it cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
🎀 The Bow Step (unnecessary, but emotionally important)
Once it’s cooled completely, wrap a ribbon around it like it’s a gift to your own good taste.
(Do not put ribbon in the oven. Unless you want “smoked polyester notes.”)
