Merlot is thought to take its name from merle, the French word for blackbird. At Jordan, the name Black Magic Merlot has another story to tell.

Our Merlot vines are rooted in Black Tourmaline-rich granite, where the dark soils help shape an inky, expressive w**e with notes of red plum, dark bitter chocolate and seductive perfume, wrapped in generous, velvety tannins and subtle French oak.

On International Merlot Day, we’re raising a glass to the grape, the soil and the little bit of magic that brings it all together.

Bacon, but make it Jordan.

This World Bacon Day, Chef Marthinus Ferreira is putting bacon firmly in the spotlight with The Bacon Toast - a deliciously indulgent combination of sweet, salty and smoky.

Crisp banana bread is layered with a rich banana and bacon purée, topped with sticky Sriracha-maple glazed bacon and finished with smoked Stanford or aged cheddar.

It’s bold, playful and seriously moreish - and, naturally, we think it deserves a glass of Jordan The Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon alongside it. The w**e’s generous fruit and depth complement the caramelised banana, smoky bacon and savoury aged cheddar beautifully.

Because bacon doesn’t always have to be the side dish. Sometimes, it deserves to take centre stage.

This International Cabernet Sauvignon Day, we’re raising a glass to one of the world’s most iconic grape varieties - and one with deep roots at Jordan W**e Estate.

This year, we’re celebrating with the release of two exciting new 2024 vintages: Timepiece Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 and Jordan The Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon 2024.

The Timepiece comes from our 37-year-old, Old Vine Certified Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard - the first Cabernet planted at Jordan in 1987 - and shows rich, intense flavours of malted dark chocolate, salted black liquorice and blueberries, with a hint of mint and glossy tannins.

The Long Fuse comes from 37–39-year-old vines planted across our west- and north-facing slopes, offering dark black fruit, brambly character, cedar and toasted to***co, beautifully integrated after 18 months in French oak.

On Sunday, 25 October 2026, we invite you to join us for the Jordan Run & Ride for Renosterveld - a celebration of sport, conservation, and community.

Hosted at Jordan W**e Estate, this event raises funds for the Bottelary Hills Renosterveld Conservancy, a vital conservation area within the Cape W**elands Biosphere Reserve. Home to some of the last remaining Renosterveld habitats near the Cape Town Metropole, this remarkable landscape protects an extraordinary diversity of indigenous flora and fauna found nowhere else on
earth.

Some w**e names have a story. This one has 300 charges of dynamite.

When preparing the soil for Jordan’s Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards, large granite boulders had to be removed. One particularly stubborn boulder required a very, very long fuse. And when the rocks finally went flying, some landed all over the Estate. As Gary Jordan tells the story, it became a memorable part of the vineyard’s history - and the inspiration behind the name The Long Fuse.

Now, the story continues with the release of the Jordan The Long Fuse Cabernet Sauvignon 2024. Made from 37–39-year-old vines and matured for 18 months in French oak, this is a Cabernet Sauvignon with depth, structure and patience at its heart.

Expect dark black fruit, brambly character, cedar and toasted to***co, with beautifully integrated oak and soft, balanced tannins.

A taste of the Greek islands, grown in Stellenbosch!

The Jordan Assyrtiko 2026 has arrived - a fresh, mineral-driven expression of this Mediterranean variety, grown on our north-facing vineyard at 200m above sea level.

Kathy Jordan describes this vintage as having “a lovely freshness” and a beautiful minerality, while Gary calls the vintage “more island-style”, with racy acidity and a mineral character that makes you feel “almost like you are at the edge of the sea”.
