Recognised by W**emag.co.za Argentum 2024 is a blend of 56% Merlot, 27% Cabernet Franc, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot.

Pruning is one of the most important tasks in the vineyard at this time of year. Each vine is carefully cut back, removing the previous season’s growth and selecting the shoots that will form the foundation for the season ahead.

In many ways, this is where the next vintage begins. By pruning carefully, we help manage the balance of the vine, encourage healthy new growth and prepare it to carry the fruit that will eventually make its way into our cellar.

The Banghoek Valley was once known as De Bange Hoek — “the scared corner”. With its steep terrain and stories of criminals and escaped prisoners hiding in the area, travelling through this part of the Cape was once a very different experience.

Today, it is the valley we call home; a place defined by vineyards, mountains and a remarkable sense of history.

Having grown up on the Zorgvliet Estate, Marilyn Louw has seen every step of the w**emaking journey.

Today, as Labelling Operator, she oversees the final touch before each bottle leaves the cellar. Every bottle carries not only the Zorgvliet name, but also the care and dedication of the people behind it.
