www.reynekewines.co.za or +27 (0) 21 881 3517 There’s a lot to be said about winemaking the way it used to be. There were no chemicals, no “technological advancements” that made the process a process, and natural balance was far more important than balance sheets. It’s an approach that’s not just better for the earth, it’s also better for the wine – as respected critics have confirmed. So, while i

t may be somewhat old-fashioned, it may also be the way wines are made in future. Reyneke is a Biodynamic and Organic Certified Wine Farm located in the Polkadraai Hills region, to the west of Stellenbosch.

Distinctly Polkadraai.

Today we celebrate the unique character our hills bring to Chenin Blanc.
Vibrant, textured, and deeply rooted in our soil.

We are thrilled to share that the very first reviews are in for our brand-new Cornerstone wines, currently being launched for the first time by Johan in the UK.

It’s an honor to see these debut releases make such an immediate impact, with Matthew Jukes awarding the Cornerstone White an incredible 18.5/20 and the Cornerstone Red achieving a stellar 18/20.

Even more exciting? Our upcoming Estate range vintages are outperforming their maiden releases.

Earth Day for us meant clearing out the kraal. We’ve been moving +-270 cubic meters of cow bedding to start our new compost heaps.

It's heartbeat of the farm. A full year’s worth of carbon (wood chips, straw, and grasses etc.) that’s served as bedding for our cows. Now, we’ve got massive heap ready to be shaped into proper compost windrows (14m long, 3m wide and 2m high for those wondering about the scale).

Once the heaps are built, we’ll be inserting the biodynamic preparations 502 - 507 to really bring it to life.

There’s no better way to honor the earth than by giving back exactly what we took from it.

The hospitality industry is shifting from simply minimizing harm to actively restoring our ecosystems.

This insightful piece from Hospitality Net explores how restaurants can move beyond traditional sustainability by embracing regenerative viticulture.

It highlights how wine lists can become powerful tools for environmental healing - focusing on soil health, biodiversity, and the holistic management of the land.

At Reyneke Wines, these principles are at the core of everything we do.

It is inspiring to see the global conversation move toward a regenerative future. We believe that when restaurants and producers align on these values, the impact on our planet is profound.

"This is a project of sensitivity, imagination and care; the new winery promises to be a building that embraces the environment.”

These words from Angela Lloyd’s latest article perfectly capture the heart of our current journey at Reyneke.

While sustainability often starts in the vineyards, we believe it should extend to every brick and beam of our home. Our new cellar is a testament to this.

As Angela beautifully notes, it’s about "material memory" and ensuring that our footprint on this land remains a gentle one. It’s not just a building, it’s an extension of our biodynamic philosophy.

We invite you to read the full story of this restoration and the partners helping us bring it to life on Angela's blog, Out of the Press.

Meet Dasja.

Now that harvest is over, Dasja and the herd have taken over the vineyards.

It’s a win-win: they get a scenic snack while providing a natural solution for w**d control. Plus, they’re busy fertilizing the soil as they go, prepping the earth for the next season.

No chemicals, just nature doing what it does best.
