Yonder Hill Wines The Naudé family has been farming on Yonder Hill Wine Estate since 1993. Yonder Hill covers some 13 hectares of rich Oakleaf and Clovelly soil.

We are a proud family run Stellenbosch Wine Farm at the foot of the majestic Helderberg, in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Vineyards are planted, predominantly, on the northern slopes of the farm and comprise two main cultivars: Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot feature as well. Maritime breezes in the early afternoon greatly influence the ripening process and the grapes are harvested as long as three weeks later than they are in Stellenbosch, a short distance away. The cellar was built in 1993, but greatly modernised four years later. The barrels, of French oak, are kept underground to allow for gravity-feeding and the cellar can house up to 800 of these containers, each with a capacity of 225 litres. All three red wines produced at Yonder Hill - the Nicola, Inanda and Merlot - are matured here.

Tasting Note Thursday – Ella

A Stellenbosch classic with charm, depth and a whole lot of character. She opens with bright red fruit on the nose, from ripe cherries to soft raspberries, drawing you in before revealing her richer layers.

On the palate, Ella unfolds beautifully: blackberries, a touch of eucalyptus, and that signature dark chocolate smoothness. Her tannins are velvety, her finish long, and her balance spot on.

Perfect with lamb, hearty tomato dishes, or simply a quiet evening where the w**e does the talking.
