In our latest Women & W**e conversation, Carrie Adams, Siobhan Thompson and Winnie Bowman discover one of Quoin Rock’s most extraordinary creations — Ghost Cabernet Franc 2019.
A w**e that spent 24 months in new French oak, followed by another four years of maturation in bottle. Big, bold and beautifully complex, revealing layers of spice, dark chocolate and the unmistakable character of Cabernet Franc.
But Ghost is about much more than taste.
As Denis explains, the idea was to create an “analogue w**e in a digital world” — something rare, uncompromised and impossible to reproduce exactly.
Every Ghost is different.
The 2017 Ghost was Cabernet Sauvignon.
The 2019 Ghost is Cabernet Franc.
And the next Ghost will only exist when the vineyard gives us grapes worthy of becoming one.
There is no obligation to produce it every year. No commercial calendar to follow. Quality decides when Ghost appears.
It is w**e as craftsmanship — where business never comes before excellence.
