Strydom Family Wines

Strydom Family Wines Wine is what we drink and we do enjoy drinking good wine. We respect nature and try to complete the full cycle of what was created by the plant and nature.

"The Strydom family have been growing grapes on their property in Stellenbosch since 2006. Even though most of the grapes are sold to high end producers, a small part was always kept aside to experiment with for their own label “one day”. The maiden vintage of Sauvignon Blanc 2012 is the result of this experimentation made by Rianie Strydom, one of South Africa’s most celebrated female winemakers

and one of only two female members of the Cape Winemakers Guild. Besides numerous awards as well as five 5 star Platter guide wines, the highest honour for her, was winning the Tri-Nations award in Australia, the first South African to do so in the 13 years the competition was running by 2010. Winemaking runs in the Strydom's blood with her husband Louis, also a winemaker, heading up one of South Africa’s leading brands. There is three little Strydoms, Jean-Louis, Jacq and Danièle which already is showing interest in their parent’s passion. They love spending time with them in the various wineries for those after hour and weekend pump-overs during harvest. A love they hope will grow into the next generation Strydom winemaking team. We respect nature and try to complete the full cycle of what was created by the plant and nature into a product that reflects the destiny of those grapes."

We are very excited to be part of the Graaff-Reinet stoep tasting SIBLINGS weekend this year. Here are some pictures of our road trip. The Karoo had lots of rain as well. Moody weather for lots of red wine tasting. You can find us on the Slater & Dutch stoep. Today and Friday we pour from 14:00-18:00 and Saturday from 12:00-18:00. Come join in the fun. We are definitely pouring our very special Siblings white blend of Chenin Blanc, Marsanne and Rousanne.

Waking up in the bush always have such a special way to it. First look out our window and a giraffe pecking on a bush 20m away. Just love the quiet time with birds chirping one another.

We've already picked some Chenin Blanc, Marsanne and Rousanne, destined to become our next vintage of 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲̀𝗹𝗲 and 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝘆𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗦𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. They are now safely in the cellar, contently bubbling away as the fermentation runs its course.

If you'd like to experience previous vintages of these two amazing wines, and raise a glass to a successful harvest, head on over to our website e-store to order yours!
