Keeping up with the bees

Keeping up with the bees We are a small local boutique honey business, harvesting in limited batches to honour each season’s flowers.

This allows the natural flavours of the blossoms to shine through — just as the bees intended.

Today I’m in the honey room — uncapping super frames and spinning out Brazilian Pepper Tree honey.

Is it glamorous? Not at all. But it’s part of the process… and while MC’s working, I step in and fill the gaps.

As a small beekeeping team, we wear many hats — doing whatever needs to be done, when it needs to be done.
But we have the best reason to keep going…our two beautiful, busy little bees 🐝💛

Most of what we earn from our honey goes towards their education. We truly believe that the hard work we put in today is an investment in their future.

This is something I often speak about at the markets.

A lot of the cheaper honey you find in supermarkets is imported in large drums often from places like China. Before it can be sold, it is processed and irradiated to meet regulations.

By the end of that process, you’re no longer getting honey in its natural state but something that has been heavily altered.

Always look at the source of your honey.

Support local where you can, it may cost a little more, but you’re getting real, raw honey… just as the bees intended 🐝

Every sticker and tag is carefully cut and placed by hand. They may not always be perfectly straight, but that’s part of what makes them ours. It means we’re involved in every step of the process, pouring in hard work, quality care, and a whole lot of love into each product.

We’re coming to the end of our beautiful Golden Girls harvest for 2026 🌼🍯

One of the most special things about seasonal honey is that we get to truly enjoy it in its moment… and then miss it when it’s gone. But in doing so, it makes space for new blossoms and flavours to have their turn to shine.

So if you love our Golden Girls range, now is the time to enjoy it while stocks last 💛

We only have 12 bottles left of Golden Girls and 14 left of the late harvest.

On Sunday we received a wonderful greeting all the way from Switzerland! 🇨🇭

A few weeks ago, some tourists visited us at the Blaauwklippen Market and bought some of our honey. They were kind enough to send us a photo of it being enjoyed on their toast - what a lovely surprise! 🍞🍯

We always love hearing from you and knowing that our honey is being enjoyed, even across the world.

Join us again at the Blaauwklippen Market this Saturday from 9:00–17:00 - come say hello and taste the season 🌼🌺🪻🐝🍯
