I WAS A PR******TE & MY DAD WHO HAD DIVORCED MY MOM HIRED ME FOR THE NIGHT
EPISODE 30
Written by ©GAMBO ELVIS
That day began like every other day in the house. I was in my room, quietly arranging my things while my stepmother and her children occupied the living room as if it was their personal kingdom. They were laughing, eating, and watching television. I was used to it—she pampered her kids like royalty and treated me like the housemaid. If there was any errand to be done, it was my name she would shout, never theirs.
As expected, she screamed out my name that afternoon because someone had been ringing the bell at the gate. She didn’t even move an inch. Her children sat still, knowing I would be forced to answer. But I didn’t want to argue. I simply wiped my hands and walked to the door, telling myself that maybe, just maybe, this day could bring me something different.
When I opened the door, my whole world changed.
It was him. Liam.
He stood there, holding a parcel, his eyes heavy with emotion.
“I brought this for you,” he said softly. “I still love you… but we need to talk.”
Before I knew it, I jumped into his arms like a starving child finding food. Tears rolled down my face uncontrollably. My heart raced so fast, I thought it would burst. For a moment, I felt alive again, like my past mistakes didn’t matter.
My stepmom, curious about the commotion, came out with her children. She saw me clinging tightly to Liam, crying and laughing at the same time. Her face was frozen in shock, but I didn’t care. Liam led me gently to his car and drove me away to a quiet place.
When we finally sat down, he looked me straight in the eyes. His voice trembled as he asked me what had happened in my life, what I had been through, and why I had chosen such a painful path. He confessed that it broke him inside whenever he imagined what I had gone through with other men. I could see tears forming in his eyes. We both cried, holding each other in silence.
Later, at his apartment, we tried to ease the heaviness in our hearts. We drank together, not to celebrate, but to drown the memories. Between the sobs and the silence, he told me something that pierced my heart.
“You gave away your pride and dignity to save your mother,” he said.
“Yes,” I replied, my voice shaking. “Because she gave up her own happiness to raise me. When she was sick, I couldn’t just sit back and watch her die while I had the power to help. If it meant sacrificing myself, then so be it. I don’t regret saving my mother’s life.”
Liam held my hands tighter. “But now you have me. And you have your father too. Would you still make that same choice if it came again?”
I swallowed hard. “Back then, I had no choice. Now I do. Now, I have you. I love you, Liam. I know—even if you lost everything tomorrow—you would still fight for me and for my mom.”
His eyes softened, but he pressed further. “Are you sure you will never betray me?”
I shook my head firmly. “I am not a cheat, Liam. Yes, I once lived as a call girl, but it was never about pleasure. It was about survival. I was pushed into it by circumstances. I promise you, no matter the threats, no matter the pain, I will never betray your trust again.”
He looked at me deeply and finally sighed. “You are right. And I believe you.”
From that day, our love grew stronger. My mother was overjoyed to see me smiling again. For the first time in a long while, I tasted peace.
Meanwhile, my stepmother had to return to Canada with her children for their studies. My father refused to follow her because he wanted to stay back with my mom and me. Still, he took care of his other children abroad, but this time, he invested even more in building a future here. For the first time, I didn’t feel like a rejected daughter anymore—I felt like part of a real family.
Then, one magical evening, Liam proposed to me. My heart almost leapt out of my chest. I said yes with tears in my eyes. Finally, the girl who once lived in the shadows of shame was standing in the light of love.
The only thing left was for him to introduce me to his parents, and then wedding preparations could begin. He told me that his father was eager, almost restless, to meet the woman who had stolen his son’s heart.
Life was finally rewarding me. My father gave me a respected position in his company and promised to gift me a car on my wedding day. I felt like my wounds were finally healing. I was no longer that broken girl who sold her body for survival—I was a woman loved, respected, and cherished.
But deep inside, I knew one thing: the past never really dies. It hides, waiting for a chance to rise again.
For now, I had peace, love, and hope for a brighter tomorrow. But my story doesn’t end here. The curtain has only closed on this chapter, not the whole play.
