Saronsberg Full Circle 2024 has received Double Gold.

As our flagship Rhône-style blend, Full Circle represents so much of the work that happens in our vineyards and cellar. To see this vintage recognised is a wonderful moment for everyone involved.

Archetype was one of Angus Taylor’s first works in stone.

Created in 2004, it originally formed part of a triptych titled Mould, Simulacrum, Archetype. The first was a fibreglass mould, the second a light sculpture, and the third the stone work you see here at Saronsberg.

There is no artist statement on record for Archetype, which leaves the interpretation with the person standing in front of it.

As the weather warms, serving temperature starts to matter a little more.

Too cold and you can mute the aromas and flavours in the glass. Too warm and a w**e can lose some of its freshness.

Our W**e of the Month for October is the Viognier 2023

Recently awarded Double Gold at the 2026 Michelangelo International W**e & Spirits Awards, this is a w**e that shows just how much richness Viognier can carry while still holding onto its freshness.

Honey, pear, apricot and delicate floral notes lead into a rich, silky palate with yellow fruit, subtle spice and a gentle touch of oak. After 11 months in barrel, the w**e still finishes lively and fresh, allowing the more delicate character of Viognier to come through.

It is also a beautiful w**e for the table, particularly alongside dishes with subtle spice.

For this month’s W**e of the Month, Christiaan sits down with the Viognier 2023 to share more about the w**e, its story and what makes it such a special part of the Saronsberg range.

If there is a fire going, there is a good chance a bottle of South African w**e is not far away 🇿🇦🍷🔥

Heritage Day is a celebration of the people, places and traditions that make home feel like home. For many of us, that means gathering around the fire, sharing good food and opening a bottle worth sharing too.
