Join us on Thursday, 28 May, for another unforgettable 1699 Wine Club evening as we welcome Kara van Zyl from Leeuwenkuil Family Vineyards.

Established in 1693, Leeuwenkuil is one of the Swartland’s most respected family-owned wine estates, celebrated for wines that reflect the rugged beauty, ancient soils, and bold character of the region.

Venue: Kloofzicht Farm Deli
Time: 17:30 for 18:00
Fee: R350 p.p.
(Includes pre-dinner nibbles, wine tasting, 2-course dinner & gratuity)

Join us for a truly special Wine Club evening on Thursday, 23 April, as we welcome Phillip Deetlefs from the historic Deetlefs Wine Estate.

With a heritage dating back to 1822, Deetlefs is one of South Africa’s oldest family-owned estates. Nestled in the Breedekloof Valley, their wines reflect a unique terroir shaped by mountain climates, river soils, and slow ripening vines — resulting in wines of elegance, balance, and depth. Phillip, representing the next generation, brings both innovation and respect for tradition to every bottle.

This memorable evening will be hosted at Kole & Deeg, where Etienne Abrahams and his team will take us on a culinary journey to perfectly complement the wines.

Our 1699 Wine Club evening on 26 February at the beautiful Tulbagh Boutique & Heritage Hotel was everything we love about Wine Club — great people, wonderful wines, and a warm, buzzing atmosphere.

With René Reiser from Jacaranda Winery guiding us through his handcrafted wines, the evening quickly turned into lively conversations, shared discoveries, and plenty of “just one more taste” moments. From crisp, vibrant whites to beautifully structured reds, every glass sparked discussion and appreciation around the tables

Add to that a delicious dinner, flowing laughter, and the joy of fellow wine lovers coming together, and you have the perfect recipe for a memorable night.

This is what 1699 Wine Club is all about — celebrating wine, friendship, and the simple pleasure of gathering around a table. 🥂

Nestled at the foot of the Groenberg Mountain, Jacaranda’s wines reflect elegance, freshness, and meticulous care, brought to life by René Reiser and Birgit Schmiederer-Reiser. These exceptional wines will be perfectly paired with a thoughtfully prepared dinner at the Tulbagh Boutique & Heritage Hotel, promising a relaxed and memorable evening.
