1 year.
One unforgettable journey.
A year ago, my life looked completely different.

After a painful breakup, I packed up everything I owned and put it into storage.
I didn't book a holiday.
I didn't have a grand plan.
I simply loaded my car with a tent, a multi-tool knife, some paracord, fire lighters and basic gear and drove away.

For the next year, the coastline became my home.

From Groenrivier & Kleinzee to Lamberts Bay, Velddrif, Paternoster, Onrus, Hermanus, Still Bay & Gouritsmond. Most of the time, I was completely alone.

At first, the silence was uncomfortable and very scary.
Then it became peaceful.
Then it became necessary.

The ocean listened when nobody else could.
Fishing taught patience.
The wind taught resilience.
The coast taught me that healing doesn't happen all at once. It happens sunrise by sunrise.
Step by step.

Looking back now, the coast didn't heal me.
It simply gave me the space to heal.
