I’m Nick Hamman and the people of Westbury desperately need our help, as one of the areas worst affected by the scourge of gangsterism and drugs, they are also one of the most neglected, only getting attention through horrendous headlines. But the truth is, this is a community filled with good people, frail elderly and innocent children searching for hope to hold onto. Thank God for people like my friend Nuraan Essack of Hunger Has No Religion, who does everything she can to keep the community fed with her organization Hunger Has No Religion, and thank God for companies like Super Soft. Recently, I wanted to help Nuraan and so I called AA Bakeries asking if they could maybe help us out with 200 loaves of bread. Without hesitation, they sent a truck with 600. More than just a meal, these are gestures of hope, that show these people that there are others who care. We’ve got a long way to go, but hopefully acts like this can encourage other companies and corporates to come through and help. So, if you want to do your part to help us raise awareness, drop a comment and share this video to your followers and let’s work together to build the South Africa that all deserve to live in.

There is still good in this world. This morning I went to help my friend Nuraan at Hunger Has No Religion who feeds the people of Westbury, one of the communities hardest hit by drugs and gangsterism. I asked my friends at AA Bakery Super Soft if they could help and without hesitating they brought 600 loaves. The community was so happy. It was a beautiful morning. Could this be one of the best Chinese restaurants in South Africa? 🇨🇳🥢

Sea Point is filled with authentic, unpretentious eateries, and Tao Yuan Asian Cuisine is exactly that: an old-school Cantonese restaurant where the focus is less on trendy décor and more on generous portions, shared dishes, seafood and traditional Chinese flavours.

Hosted by the wonderful Aunty Mary, this is the kind of understated neighbourhood restaurant you need to experience for yourself.

We tried the spicy smashed cucumber salad for R78, followed by the Sichuan pepper beef for R188—a savoury, spicy stir-fry with that signature málà combination of heat and tongue-tingling numbness.
