We supplement weak kids and rejected ones. Their survival rate is higher when they have received colostrum. We foster rejected ones with other doe’s though this requires physical handling during first introduction, it gets easier as doe and kid form a bond. A doe can reject her kids and feed others (mind boggling).

There’s never a better way of understanding your animals either than interacting with them. At least it helps to easily identify the sick ones, and allows us to act promptly. These are my babies 😍🐮🐷

Our gilts are only introduced to the boar when they reach an appropriate body weight, they are only teased through courtship 😂. This is done so not to hinder any further growth of our gilts. Good sows give beautiful piglets.

It's always a daunting, yet fulfilling experience to assist in labour process of our animals.

Doe first time mother struggling with kidding.

Found her already in labour, 2nd stage to be precise. She spent hours in labour without successful delivery. The first kid couldn't pass through the birth canal due to its size, and the doe was exhausted. Had to stimulate her to push with every contraction after providing her with glucose.
