MILLWRIGHT – KAINOS PROJECTS AFRICA (PTY) LTD

Kainos currently have a position available for Millwright at our Stellenbosch as well as Wemmershoek Waste Water Treatment Plants (Western Cape).

This person will be responsible for planning and implementation of preventative maintenance activities and coordinating emergency breakdown response; will coordinate the maintenance team’s daily activities; will coordinate any major equipment repairs or maintenance interventions with third party Contractors on behalf of the Client, while striving to optimize the annual cost of maintenance of the plants under their control.

Required Competence:

• National diploma or certificate in electrical and Mechanical Engineering, red seal certificate will be an advantage.
• Eight or more years of experience as a Millwright in water treatment and/or biogas plants with detailed knowledge of water treatment equipment and instrumentation maintenance and calibration.
• Experience in managing a maintenance team.
• Ability to prepare and submit maintenance reports.
• Required to perform work outside normal working hours, during emergencies and planned overtime.
• Be responsible, reliable and work independently.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Computer literacy.
• Valid Drivers’ License (Code EB)

The contract type is for a limited duration (12 months) with a fixed salary which can be extended after the 12-month period.

New employees will be required to serve a 3-month probation period. During this period an assessment will be made of his/her performance whereupon a decision will be made as to his/her suitability for continued employment.

If Employee is deemed unsuitable for continued employment, the Employee will be informed in writing and a 1-week notice period will apply where after the contract is terminated.

Overtime remuneration as per the Basic Conditions of Employment Act guidelines

R500 monthly cellphone allowance

Working hours – Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00 (or as arranged with Operational Manager). Employee may be required to work overtime due to operational or emergency demands.
