Tim Atkin Report 2026

The goal of good w**emaking is to authentically express the terroir where the vineyard finds itself: sun, wind, rain, slope, soil and clone all come together in the hands of the w**emaker to conjure up excellence and provenance in a bottle.

So, we are thrilled to receive a pat on the back from renowned Tim Atkin MW for two of our single-site Chenin Blancs.

The Optenhorst Chenin Blanc is well-known. This single-site w**e is sourced from the third-oldest Chenin Blanc vineyard in the country and produces honeyed, nutty voluptuousness year after year, with the 2025 vintage scoring an impressive 94 points in Atkin’s latest W**e Report.

Seesteen is a newcomer, with the 2025 being only its second vintage. The grapes are sourced from a polar-opposite terroir: a sea-facing vineyard in the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde near Hermanus, creating a w**e with signature salinity, bright acidity and a flinty finish. The Seesteen 2025 received an impressive 91 points.

The Optenhorst has just been released for sale in our tasting rooms and online shop, while the Seesteen 2025 will be available soon. Join our mailing list to be notified as soon as it becomes available, or contact onida@bosmanw**es.com to pre-order.

With a string of accolades in its wake, there’s no doubt this newly released Twyfeling Cinsaut 2025 will impress.

Sourced from bush vines growing on a windy hill near the top of the farm, this w**e is spontaneously fermented and spent a year in oak barrels, resulting in a medium-bodied w**e bursting with red cherries, raspberries, strawberries and red plum supported by light cedarwood aromas with hints of sweet spice.

A multi-layered, full flavoured w**e that will pair well with rich, tomato-based Italian dishes.🍷

After a long wait, the new vintage of Optenhorst Chenin Blanc has finally been released, and the 2025 promises to follow in the illustrious footsteps of its revered predecessors.

Mellifluous aromas of apricot, orange blossom, toasted almond and fresh ginger follow through to a peachy palate, lusciously textured.

A w**e worthy of a place in your home, poured slowly, savored generously and shared in good company with fellow w**e lovers.

Planted in weathered granite soils high on the slopes of the Upper Hemel-en-Aarde Valley overlooking the sea, our impressionable Pinot Noir vineyards absorb and reflect that unique terroir with grace and flavour.

A string of accolades follows this Pinot, the latest being the Platter 5-star rating for the 2024 vintage. With the 2025 now on the shelves, we celebrate Pinot Noir Day with confidence and gratitude for a w**e that continues to impress, reflecting its terroir with veracity, its quality a sure thing.🍷

We’re thrilled with our score of 95 points for the Bosman Adama Red in the Non-Bordeaux Red Blend category of the Fine W**e Awards.

The w**es were tasted blind, which means our flashy packaging and engaging story had no influence on the outcome.

But that story does bear retelling: the w**e is a blend of red varietals that thrive in the sun-kissed, weathered granite soils of the Bovlei near Wellington, where the Bosman Adama community has been living and working together for centuries, passing down skills and working together to create w**es that express a sense of place and illustrate the notion that we are better together, the sum is worth more than its parts.🍷

We’re thrilled to welcome Kelsey Nel as the new w**emaker at our Lelienfontein Cellar where her skills are already being put to good use. She seems just as happy with her new position: “I wanted to live in a friendly, small-town community and the Wellington terroir interests me. Plus, I get to work in a cellar with many different cultivars and regimes so there’s a broad spectrum of opportunity. Being mentored by Corlea Fourie is also a win. I’ve always followed mentors because I think that way you get to learn from the best.”

We’re excited to see Kelsey’s journey unfold and look forward to the exceptional w**es and future vintages she will help create at Bosman Family Vineyards.🥂

Mr Mandela would have loved this place.

Every day, 95 little children arrive at the Bovlei Learning Centre, where they are welcomed into a safe, nurturing environment designed for them to thrive.

Guided by nine trained teachers, the children follow an early childhood development curriculum provided and supported by NPO, The Pebbles Project. More than just a place of learning, the centre is a sugar-free zone where every child receives two nutritious meals and two healthy snacks each day, ensuring they have the nourishment they need to grow, learn and play.

Dance classes and karate lessons provide joyful opportunities to build confidence, creativity and physical strength, while each child is supported through a holistic approach that considers not only their academic development, but also their physical health and emotional well-being.

The Bovlei Learning Centre is a reminder that investing in children is one of the greatest investments we can make in our future. 🤝

“There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children.” — Nelson Mandela

OLD VINE DAY 🪾🍷

Today we honour the beautiful, gnarled vines in the Optenhorst vineyard that still thrive after many decades, producing w**es of remarkable quality and character.

As the third-oldest Chenin Blanc vineyard in South Africa, Optenhorst stands as a living testament to the enduring legacy and resilience of old vines.

EARTH DAY : PLANTING FOR THE FUTURE🌱🌍

Today we celebrated our drive towards a resilient and sustainable future by hosting a workshop together with our sales and distribution partner, Vinimark.

Wian Mouton - Head of Cultivar Management explains the work we’re doing in our plant laboratories and out in the field to propagate disease resistant, heat tolerant varietals. These varietals require significantly less chemical spraying, so they limit the use of diesel guzzling, soil compacting tractors; and as these varietals ripen early, they also require much less water, saving a critical natural resource.

This Earth Day let’s make good choices for a resilient and sustainable future!
