A little taste of the Garden Route, rooted in South African heritage.

Made with indigenous spekboom, fresh fennel and celery, slowly cured in cold-pressed macadamia oil and infused with traditional Indian pickling spices. The result? Tart, crunchy, aromatic and full of character.

What a beautiful weekend at Timberlake Village for Meet the Makers! 🤎

From meeting the passionate people behind the products to discovering local creations, enjoying delicious coffee tastings and sharing the space with so many wonderful faces, it was a weekend filled with all the things we love most: good people, good food and a community that shows up for one another.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out, supported our makers, enjoyed a coffee, had a chat and made the weekend so special. And to the incredible Timberlake Village community and all the makers who brought this event to life, thank you for creating something truly special together. 🌱

We invite you to rediscover bread with us.

Bread has been part of our tables for generations. Something familiar, something shared. Yet how often do we stop to think about the grain it began with, where it grew, or who grew it?

That is where we want to begin…

• With the grain and the land it grows on.

• With Boer Lisa of Vygevlakte Winkel, who grows our heritage wheat in the western Karoo, in the Northern Cape.

• And with the time and skill it takes to turn that harvest into a loaf worth sharing.

For months, we’ve been getting to know the organic wheat and spelt behind our new sourdough.

Learning how it behaves, discovering its flavour, and working towards a bread that allows that grain to speak for itself.

For us, rediscovering bread means remembering those connections. Knowing a little more about what we eat, and valuing the work that brings it to our table.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll share this journey with you.

A little hello from the fields 🌾

Boer Lisa from Vygevlakte, who supplies Floreer with organic wheat, sent us this beautiful photo of the organic rye growing on her farm. We couldn’t resist sharing them with you.

There’s something special about receiving a glimpse of the fields from the very person growing our grain. It makes the connection between the farm, our bakery and your table feel that much closer.

We’re all part of one food system and these photos are a lovely reminder that there are people we can get to know behind the food we eat. We depend on one another, and supporting each other helps keep good food growing and small businesses going.
