Plant Electrician (Soya Extruder & Expeller Factory)

Vaimar Farms Limited is a growing commercial egg production and agro-processing enterprise. We are currently expanding our operations with the launch of a modern Soya Extruder and Expeller feed-processing factory. With brand-new industrial machinery currently in transit, we are seeking a highly practical, hands-on Plant Electrician to lead the immediate physical installation and long-term maintenance of our processing line.

Job Purpose

The Plant Electrician will be solely responsible for the electrical installation, commissioning, wiring, troubleshooting, and daily maintenance of the soya extruder and oil expeller plant. The immediate focus of this role is getting the newly arrived factory machinery safely wired and operational.

Key Responsibilities

Machinery Installation: Lead the hands-on unboxing, positioning, physical wiring, and electrical connection of the newly imported soya extruders and oil expellers.
Commissioning & Testing: Read and interpret international electrical schematics and manufacturer manuals to safely test and launch the new factory production line.
Routine Factory Maintenance: Perform preventative maintenance and rapid-response electrical repairs on automated heating elements, heavy-duty electric motors, conveyors, and processing units.
Control Panel Management: Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate factory control panels, sensors, temperature controllers, and variable speed drives (VFDs).
Power Distribution: Monitor and maintain the three-phase industrial power supply and distribution boards dedicated to the factory plant to prevent voltage drops or motor burnouts.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict factory safety standards, machine guarding protocols, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and ensure compliance with ZESCO and EIZ regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Craft Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering / Electrical Technology.
2–3 years of hands-on experience as an industrial maintenance or plant electrician, with specific experience in factory machinery installation and three-phase industrial environments.
Deep understanding of industrial three-phase power, reading complex machinery wiring diagrams, connecting heavy-duty motors, and working with industrial heating elements.
A deeply practical, "hands-on" work ethic, capability to work independently under tight installation deadlines, and a high attention to technical detail.

o To conduct all duties that ensures the Feedlot runs at its maximum potential as directed by Management such as timely feeding schedule, timely vaccination and deworming of new entrant’s stock.

o Give section monthly and quarterly report for all activities and incidences to the relevant authority as directed.

o Fully execute daily activities plan to manage a work force of at least 20 employees

o Ensuring that general security as well as biosecurity are maintained at a high standard throughout the section.

· Requirements:

o The person should be a holder of the certificate or diploma in general agriculture or animal husbandry from a recognised Zambian institution, degree level in the same field will be an added advantage.

o At list 5 years proven experience as feedlot manager or feedlot assistant manager with good knowledge about how to run the feedlot and back grounding together.

o Must be married and willing to relocate with the family

o Must be computer literate

o Should poses good skill and knowledge about feedlot ration formulation,
