A farm with no water is like a comedian without his jokes.

I remember listening to rumors of how much of a gamble it is to drill water and especially in our area where it’s rocky, the risk of a dry bole hole is just something you can’t wish on anyone, but the good news is the risk is manageable if you take the right steps, before you drill your water be sure to do a geological siting survey, a lot of people are crying because they do not respect technology and they are still hell bent on old traditional ways of siting, imagine if you are being charged k18000 for 50m , you can metigate the risk by atleast risking k2500 for surveyors who will tell you where to drill and how deep you need to go with 90% accuracy, we see people cry that paid for 50m and found a dry bole hole while had they gone 10m deeper they would have found water, surveying will cost you around k2500, but will save you lump sum.

At our farm we engaged surveyors and they found two water points, one was between 60m & 80m and the other one at 120m to 150m so we went for the 80m which was closer, At 50m it was as dry as a desert, at 75m still dry and we almost lost hope, At 80m it started showing some signs of wet soil and 85m we finally hit water , but we paid to drill untill 110m to create a proper allowance passage. Had we neglected the surveyors we would have paid for 2 or 3 dry bole holes at 50m.

Sobre advise.
