The Black Australorp chickens are suitable for raising in both confined and free range system. Generally 4-5 square feet space is required per bird if you want to raise them in confined system. But they will require more free space if you want to raise them in free range system.

Layer poultry birds drink lots of water daily. So, keep sufficient amount of clean and fresh water inside their house. Try to serve them slightly warm water during winter season

Take a look at the chicks, they also have a brazier inside to keep the room warm. Its cold now, take care of the chicks.

On the right are all fully grown Australorps that dont need the brazier. Keep the room dry and always give them enough warm again.

HOW TO PREPARE LUMANDA. EVEN FIRST TIMERS CAN DO IT WITH THIS RECIPE.

YOU WILL NEED THE BELOW

Lumanda vegetables

1 medium chopped tomato

1/2 cup pounded groundnuts

3/4 teaspoons soda

Some salt

A bit of water

Method

1. Remove the leaves from the stems and wash

2. Add in the pot with 3/4 teaspoon soda and a bit of water. Boil for some 3 minutes

3. Add the chopped tomato and the powdered groundnuts and begin to stir continuously.

4. Continue stirring for at least 20-30 minutes to ensure the powdered groundnuts are fully cooked. Here you can also sit back and watch as it cooks then stir again.

5 . It is now ready to serve

HOT CHICKEN
Chicken ( choose few parts)
1/2 stick margarine
1 bottle Durkee hot sauce
2 tbsp. honey
10 shakes Tabasco
2 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
Boil the chicken since its village for 5 minutes
Deep fry for 20 minutes. Drain and dip and let set in sauce. Take out to dry and then serve.

BLACK AUSTRALORPS & KUROILERS
SPICY CHICKEN WINGS
1 lg. can Parmesan cheese
2 tbsp. oregano
4 tbsp. parsley
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. pepper
1 stick margarine
4-5 lbs. chicken wings
Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil. Melt margarine in small pan. Cut up chicken
wings. Discard tips. Mix all dry ingredients in bowl. Dunk chicken wings in margarine
and roll in cheese mixture. Place on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven for one hour serve warm.

FOR AUSTRALORPS AND KUROILERS, COOK THE MEAT OR WINGS 5MINUTES BEFORE MIXING ALL DRY INGREDIENTS.

SEASONING MIX FOR CHICKEN: BLACK AUSTRALORP AND KUROILER.
2 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. onion powder
3/4 tsp. savory
1/4 tsp. coriander
3/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. thyme
1/2 tsp. basil, dried crushed sweet
Mix all ingredients well.
Makes 2 & half tablespoons
