Beautiful Sunset !!
One of our 2 tooth Kalahari Red Buck imported from Eland Zakithi Boer Goat Stud in South Africa.

Last year in January we decided to add some South African genetics into our Kalahari Red Herd. We imported 7 fantastic young bucks and now they are ready to start working.

We believe this infusion of South African bucks and Namibian does will give us some great Genetics that are hardy, big and just beautiful to push our stud breeding program to another level.

Thank you Xolisani Mpofu for these great genetics

FARM VISITS
Many times when we get an inquiry from "customers" and the first request is; can I visit your farm? We always get suspicious.

Most farmers are never comfortable to just open up their farm operations to anyone. The reason is simple.

Most people including friends do not have good intentions.

A few months ago when we showed our followers a sneak peak of our farm. We had many friends asking us to visit. They just wanted to see and satisfy their curiosity and see how we have succeeded. To just prove indeed we are doing it. One of them is someone I have known for years and he came pretending to want to buy. He saw, satisfied his curiousity and has never called after the visit. He never bought anything.

Many times we see hard working vulnerable people looking for jobs but we chase them from our farms. Sometimes we feel bad for chasing them.
.....But poor people are sometimes the most evil.

We feel guilty yes, but the video below gives us the reasons to be careful with farm visitors and certain friends or customers and this is the reason we refuse to hire certain people despite the situation they are in.

Last year a certain group of young women wanted to come to one of our farms. After much hesitation I allowed them to come. We agreed to meet at Situmbeko market.

They came by public transport. When I looked at their plastic wigs and shoes, I decided these were not our target customers. 99.99% of our target customers don't move around jumping from bus to bus or taxi to taxi.

We serve a premium market. I asked them a few questions and from their answers I told them I could not show them our animals. I felt a little bad but I refused to take them to the farm. I refunded their bus money and I drove off.

This year a similar thing happened. Again 2 young women. From inception everything about them was off....But this time I decided to let my guard down and picked them up in our car from farmers junction after they dropped off the bus. I took them to my house. 3 weeks later this happened.

No one jumps from bus to bus to buy a K25,000 goat .

My fellow farmers. Learn from us, don't allow anyone to visit your farm without due diligence or scrutiny.

Please Note that we have taken down the post regarding the senseless, mercilessly slaughter and theft of our goats as it is now an active police investigation and the video contains important evidence.

Thank you for the support from well meaning colleagues sympathisers and customers.

It is well and......

we are still open for business!

No amount of frustration can stop our resolve. We are determined to hunt down the perpetrators and we will catch them.

What a beautiful looking Young Doe!!

Born September 2025 from a South African buck bred by Voorbok. Boer goats from "Made In Heaven" a 5th generation Stud buck from The Lukas Burger bloodline of "Dakar" These young does are unique and easily stand out from the rest in terms of posture, body build, facial features and growth rates.

This just goes to prove that genetics before anything else is paramount in livestock success.

Kalahari Reds
Our lambing season is in full swing with early leaders starting weeks earlier than others.

Another set of ram lamb twins with birth weights of 3.6kg and 3.8kg respectively.

This is another Sirocco Kalahari Reds senior ewe giving us more of "Buggy" Stud ram Genetics.

Looks like "Buggy" is poised to cement his bloodline on our herd.

Most of you saw our YouTube Video and gave us valuable feedback. We are grateful. 🙏

You saw our Journey, you were impressed.... But here is the question; Why are many Goat Farmers Still struggling?

And No One Wants to Talk About It!

Goat farming is often praised as cheap and profitable… but the reality on many farms tells a different story. The problem isn’t the goats it’s the approach.

Here are the hard truths every serious farmer must understand:

1. Goats Are a Business, Not Pets, not a hobby.
Feeding anyhow, housing anyhow, and managing casually will only give you casual results.

Profitable goat farming requires planning, proper housing, and consistent care. You need to harness the small stock success program.

2. Breed Quality Determines Profit
Relying only on slow-growing local breeds limits your income. Introducing improved or crossbreeds can significantly boost growth rate and reproduction, leading to better returns.

The big Kalahari Red Buck in this video is "Buggy" a fantastic and very Expensive Buck owned by Sirocco Kalahari Reds of Namibia. As a business we took the deliberate decision to buy his offspring. We have 11 Bucks directly sired by Buggy in our herd representing a massive investment in genetics. This is our model for future profitability. Cheap is expensive

3. Poor Management Is the Real Killer
Goats don’t die from superstition they die from preventable issues like worm infestation, diseases (like PPR), clostridial diseases, dirty environments, and lack of vaccination. Good hygiene and health care are non-negotiable.

As a business we spend thousands annually buying Vaccines to vaccinate or herds. Another huge investment in herd health. Future profits heavily depend on healthy herds.

4. Free-Range Isn’t a Business Model
Allowing goats to roam freely may reduce feeding costs, but it also reduces productivity, exposes them to diseases, and limits proper monitoring. We run small camps for our herds and all super genetics are monitored 24/7 right here in Lusaka not in Lufwanyama whilst you sip gin and juice at your local pub and grill in another town. You will cry.

5. No Records = No Progress
If you’re not tracking births, weights, treatments, and expenses, you’re running blind. Simple record-keeping helps you identify what’s working and where to improve. We run MyGoatFarm app by of Kenya. We pay $90 per year and that's a small investment for such a brilliant farm management app.

Successful goat farmers don’t just “rear goats” they manage a system. That’s why some turn 10 goats into a thriving business, while others remain stuck for years.

And lastly, Kasumbalesa market will drain you and kick you out of business. A lot of Nonsense starts from there. Leave it to the villagers. That's their market.

Superior Genetics!
What a blessed way to start our lambing season after the rains with our Kalahari Red Ewes imported from Sirocco Kalahari Reds in Namibia leading the way with 4 kids born with a clear cut 2 males and 2 females.

These kids are sired by the renowned "Buggy" a proven Stud Buck from Namibia and the ewe is from the famous "Homeboy" Stud bloodline.

And that's what we call a quadruple blessing.
