NATURAL BEAK SMOOTHING

The natural beak smoothing process developed by Roxell involves the use of abrasive surfaces integrated into the birds' feeding systems. As the birds eat, they naturally wear down the tip of their beak. This process prevents the sharp point of the beak from developing, which can lead to harmful pecking and cannibalism. Since the birds are simply using the feeders equipped with these abrasive materials, the process is gradual and does not involve any acute pain or stress, promoting better welfare for the birds.

This approach also aims to maintain the effectiveness of the beaks for normal behaviors such as eating and foraging, while minimizing the risks associated with more invasive trimming techniques. A happy chick is a healthy chick!

Have a look at this powerhouse combination in action - HaiKoo feeding pans, paired with the Swii'Flo drinking system. This commercial broiler project consists of 6 houses fully equipped with Roxell equipment. The houses are 125m x 11m and have the capacity to accommodate 21,300 birds per house - 127,800 birds in total.

It is one thing installing these systems, but nothing makes us happier than seeing the birds feeding, drinking and thriving with them!

QUAD GLOW infrared heater with open combustion for poultry houses.

Quad Glow® is a QuadRadiant infrared heater. This device delivers the most powerful IR heat performance in the Roxell range. But while more power often pushes up the energy bill, that isn’t the case with Quad Glow - it is economical on fuel consumption – achieving the perfect balance between performance and energy efficiency.

The proof is in the pudding! 23 years later, and still producing results!

COMPLETED INSTALLATION EcoDome

Simultaneously, our team also completed a commercial breeder house project. We supplied and installed an automatic feeding system dedicated to the male birds.

Feeding System: Boozzter™

An automatic, oval pan feeding system for males in a broiler breeder house from 18 weeks. The Boozzter feeder pan is the most widely used feeding station for males in breeding houses. The oval pans are long-lasting, and poultry farmers appreciate the large feed windows and instant delivery of the feed. Includes a 100kg hopper and control pan.

*NATURAL BEAK SMOOTHING*
Roxell has integrated a rough structure into the bottom of the Boozzter feeder pan. When the males eat, their beaks rub against the rough texture of the pan bottom, which controls the growth of their beaks in a natural way. As a result, they develop well formed beaks in an animal friendly and economical alternative way to beak treatment.

INSTALLATION IN PROGRESS

The team has been hard at work behind the scenes throughout the festive season.

This commercial broiler project consists of 6 houses that will be fully equipped with automated Roxell equipment. The houses are 125m x 11m and will have the capacity to accommodate 21,300 birds per house - 127,800 birds in total.

Feeding System: HaiKoo
Roxell's oval shaped pan feeding system for broilers allows optimal use of the available house space whilst facilitating access to the drinking lines.

Includes a 100kg hopper, movable control pan for partial brooding and a fixed control pan for full house feeding. The movable control pan allows for partial brooding with the automated system on - Meaning the feed will only travel to the desired amount of pans and end where the control pan is placed.
