Thank you Tito.

You have partially captured the spirit of what we are trying to do at Farm215.

A farm is easy to describe as cattle, goats, fields, and buildings. Much harder to capture is the deeper ambition — heritage, breeding, conservation, food, family, community, and a love for the land.

This mural tells part of that story. The animals, landscape, and rural feel resonate deeply with the journey we are on. Not the full picture — because the dream is still evolving — but certainly an important piece of it.

Grateful for your talent and for helping us put some of the Farm215 vision onto a wall.

Art meets agriculture. Legacy meets landscape.

🚨 MASHONA SPOTTING MISSION — Farm215 🚨

We are seriously searching for “true-to-type” Mashona cows and heifers across Zimbabwe. Not just any black cow 😅 — we mean the real indigenous Mashona type that our grandparents knew and respected.

If you see one:📍 Post the location📸 Share a picture📖 Tell us the story or bloodline history if known.

We are especially interested in old surviving family bloodlines hidden in villages, communal lands, and forgotten herds. Some of the best genetics may still be quietly grazing somewhere in Zviyambe, Makarara, Dorowa, Chigondo, Wedza, Buhera, Mhondoro, Gokwe, Nyashanu, Sadza, Chivhu or beyond.

A true-to-type Mashona animal is typically moderate framed, hardy, fertile, deep-bodied, with strong walking ability, a smooth coat, fine bone structure, good tail switch, alert ears, and natural survival ability under tough local conditions. They are not oversized cattle — their strength is efficiency, resilience, mothering ability, and adapting to our environment.

If you or someone you know owns genuine Mashona cattle and would be open to working with us, exchanging, or preserving these genetics together — we are listening.

This is bigger than cattle. This is about preserving Zimbabwean heritage, resilience, fertility, hardiness, and history before it disappears.

Farm215 Zviyambe 🐝🌱

The buckwheat is in full flower, and the honeybees are loving it.

This is the kind of farming we are trying to build — not just crops, not just cattle, but a living system. Flowers for the bees, bees for pollination, cover for the soil, roots feeding the ground, and eventually honey that carries the taste of Zviyambe.

Buckwheat may look simple, but it is doing serious work here: feeding pollinators, protecting the soil, and adding life back into the land.

Farm215 Update: Roads, Rain & Water Management 🚜🌧️

By far this has been the best — and at the same time the most erratic — rain season we have seen in years. With that blessing has also come extensive road damage across parts of the farm.

The heavy runoff reminded us again that on a farm, roads are never “done.” Water always finds the weak points.

A huge thank you to Metal Hill Investments for the tremendous work already completed restoring and reshaping sections of the roads. But the work continues — we still need to add more proper outlet channels and improve drainage management to better handle these intense rain events.

At the same time, we also worked on completing our dead level contour on Chaiko 1 — a major step forward in our long-term regenerative farming and water management efforts.

The goal is simple:

* Slow water down
* Reduce erosion
* Keep moisture in the soil
* Protect roads and fields
* Build resilience for future seasons

As the old saying goes: “Chengetedzai ivhu” — protect the soil. Everything starts there.

Good rains test everything — roads, contours, drainage, and planning. This season has been a real teacher.

For someone with only Standard 7 education, Mudhara Onias was incredibly meticulous when it came to keeping farm records.

Today, I stumbled upon what can only be described as a gold mine—decades of notes, records, and history. It may not be complete, but what’s there tells a powerful story.

This file is more than just paper. It’s part of our farm’s legacy, a reminder of the discipline, care, and pride that built the foundation we stand on today.

Family 👨🏾‍🌾

There’s something special about this moment…
standing on the land and seeing new life push through the soil.

This is our first time planting a Super Winter Mix — oats, triticale, vetch, peas, lupin, barley, radish, and canola. All from Brasuda Pty Ltd

To some, it’s just plants…
to us, it’s the beginning of something bigger.

We are learning.
We are experimenting.
We are enjoying the process.

Some areas are coming up strong, others still finding their way — and that’s okay.

That’s farming.

What we love most is this feeling: 👉 working with nature, not against it

Watching the soil come alive again… knowing this will feed our animals, strengthen our land, and carry forward the Farm215 story.

Big respect to Current Mpamombe and team for bringing this to life on the ground 🙏🏾

Starting our winter cover crop journey!

We’ve kicked off the season by planting Barenbrug South Africa Dictator II forage barley. This awnless, lodging‑resistant variety produces top‑quality hay or silage. Its strong winter vigour and quick establishment make it a natural fit for our livestock program, delivering nutrient‑dense, high‑energy forage with less fibre. We’re excited to see how it helps our herd thrive this winter!

A huge thanks to Tinashe Chiunza Mujana for introducing us to this seed and inspiring us with your ideas.

Watch this page as Current Mpamombe and team showcase the results of this trial good or bad!

The land was disced, open fallow and looks like the team hand seeded the land. The ground is wet so no irrigation. We stand stand ready to irrigate.
