Where animals heal the land, communities secure the future.
At Chibuwe B HLLM cluster, Chimanimani district, Manicaland, community members are proving that livestock are not destroyers of the land they are powerful tools for regeneration. Through collective regenerative grazing, cattle are kraaled overnight on crop fields, naturally enriching the soil with manure and urine while their hoof action improves soil structure. This restores degraded landscapes, rebuilds biodiversity, enhances groundwater recharge, and contributes to the recovery of underground water tables. The result is healthier soils, stronger harvests, resilient ecosystems, and improved food security a true multi-benefit climate action initiative advancing SDG 13: Climate action, one herd and one field at a time.
