Belnori Boutique Cheesery

Belnori Boutique Cheesery Hand Crafted Dairy Products The milk used is obtained from their own, very lovable Swiss Saanen herd, most of whom have been reared on the property.

The 'Belnori Boutique Cheesery' is situated on a 15-acre Black Wattle plantation belonging to Norman and Rina Belcher and nestles in the Nestpark Agricultural Holdings, near Bapsfontein, part of the Greater Benoni area. The 'ladies' live in spacious paddocks, enjoy a healthy diet and produce milk that can really be called 'organic'. They are sheltered at night in paved wattle-huts. The couple are

both cheesemakers and it is difficult to distinguish exactly who makes what. Norman though takes care of the herd and handles each animal daily to ensure that they are always in good health. Rina does the R & D, sees to the packaging - where the feminine touch is evident – makes the Camembert, Brie and such like and sees to the finishing of the products.

WINTER

I really do not mind Winters - season follows season for a reason.
This Winter though, has seeped into my bones and chest.
We will take a break from the CHEESE SHOP on SUNDAYS.
Call it our WINTER BREAK.

We are best known for our Goat’s Milk products.
However, we have a small and deliciously creamy range of Jersey Milk products as well.
Try Windsor with piquant Madagascan Green Peppercorns (cousin to the Goat ‘Mulderswood’), twice SA Champion in its category.

Le Ladies ‘at large’ are now becoming ‘Ladies in Waiting’.
Milking is done for this season. It flew past so fast.

It seems a fitting time to thank Cheese Luvers - all our loyal customers and supporters of small businesses - for purchasing our products.

Its one thing crafting cheese, its another matter having folk buy what you have crafted.

We appreciate the support.

The season may have ended but there is cheese aplenty. We are prepared!

When we first entered the S A Dairy Championships some of the post-championship comments regarding our entries almost ripped my heart out.

I’d leave it a while, read it again - feel the hurt again and leave it another while.
The worst was the comments re our Yoghurt.
‘Too sour’. ‘Too thin’. The worst : ‘What is this??’
After some three months I decided to agree - they had a point.

We worked on it and eventually we made it to the top.
Goat yoghurt - the strained variety - is simply the best and many now make excellent products.

You can imagine our delight, some two decades later, to have achieved the ultimate - a Qualitè award.

Never give up!!!
