Giving some much needed TLC to these cucumber vines.

Four weeks from now, we’re hoping to be picking our first fruits from these cucumbers, planted on 12th August! 🥒🌱

And moments like these remind us that farming is not just about the harvest at the end. It’s about the people, the teamwork, the learning, the resilience — and sometimes, a really good song to get you through a cold morning! ❤️

But behind this light moment is something much bigger.

As Zimbabwe and the region continue to face increasing climate uncertainty, including the possibility of El Niño conditions, we cannot afford to farm the way we always have.

Climate-smart agriculture is about adapting, protecting livelihoods and producing more with the resources we have.

From water-efficient production and renewable energy to protected growing environments and smarter farming technologies, ACCESS to these approaches can help farmers become more resilient to drought, heat and unpredictable weather — while contributing to stronger local food systems, improved nutrition and food security.

For us at Wenashe Farms, climate-smart agriculture is becoming even more important.

We’re learning, adapting and growing — one crop at a time. 🌱🥒

It's been 3 days already at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show , and it's been fantastic!🌾✨

Wenashe Farms has been proud to exhibit at the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show , at the Old Mutual Stand alongside fellow innovators Innofuzz Ventures — all under the wing of the Eight2Five Innovation Hub.

This has been a great space for us: It's given us a chance to share our journey, meet new people, and have real conversations about what we're building. The energy, the questions, the connections — it's been everything we hoped for and more.

We've still got a few more days of learning, sharing, and insightful conversations ahead, and we can't wait.

Grateful doesn't even begin to cover it. 🌱

Thank you to Eight2Five Innovation Hub and Old Mutual for the invitation to exhibit at this year's Harare Agricultural Show. As alumni, being welcomed back into this space means more to us than words can say — and we don't take it for granted.

Our co-founder Wendy Zvakawapano will be at the Old Mutual stand from 24–29 August, representing Wenashe Farms and the incredible women and young agripreneurs growing with us. Come say hello, learn about our hydroponic greenhouses, and see firsthand what climate-smart, women-led agriculture looks like in Zimbabwe.

Mondays call for a little curiosity — so let's ease into the week with something we've been wanting to share.
Long before we posted anything about hydroponics, we were asking "does this actually work?" and "will it work here, in Zimbabwe?"

We're still finding out — and honestly, that's the fun part.

Today, we pause.

Heroes' Day asks us to remember the people who gave everything so that the rest of us could build something. Today we honor every Zimbabwean who has ever worked, sacrificed, and refused to give up on the idea of a better future for the next generation.

Ten women, ten greenhouses, a year of learning the hard way — none of it happens without believing that hard work today is worth it for what it builds tomorrow.

To everyone who came before and made room for us to grow — Thank you.
