Onion growing season can be a real trial of your patience. Especially these opvs, so he t time we talk about growing onions remind me to grow hybrids that mature a lot faster ... We now need to loosen the soil around the bulbs as some of these were planted too deeply into the soil. 2027 we will be using red onion in all our recipes.

Sometimes I visit a site and the amount of weeds and grass is way beyond what should be on a fallow field. We should do everything we can to keep our fields nice and neat. If you have no plans, why not grow a cover crop that maintains moisture and when ploughed under increases organic matter content and improves soil structure.....

It's onion season again and we transplanted our onions this past week. We did not put any commercial basal fertilizers, but started them off with chicken manure and a sprinkle of gypsum. we will monitor them closely and possibly follow-up with some foliar fertilizers and one or two top dressings.... this is red onion.... variety is red creole

This past rainy season affected most of not all of our vegetable planting. we struggled with the lettuce and tomatoes that we had transplanted. A hard and painful decision was to uproot everything and start over...

So as of March we are preparing land and transplanting seedlings that we have prepared ourselves to cut down on costs....
