A Hwange resident, Ms Sithabile Ndlovu today donated foodstuff to a pregnant Hwange women who was kicked-out from home with her two children after testing positive for Covid-19.
The donation, which comprised of mealie-meal, rice, sugar, salt, soya chunks, a loaf of bread, cooking oil, bag of potatoes, bundle of chomolia and petroleum jell was received by Empumalanga Clinic sister-in-charge Sindiso Mhlanga.
The pregnant woman who was employed as a maid at Baobab was chased out by her employer two weeks ago after she tested Covid-19 positive.
It is said efforts to seek refuge at her mother’s place were also futile as she was also chucked out after she had divulged her status.
The woman is said to have made her way to her live-in boyfriend’s place where he was also forced to move out by other tenants who had got wind of her status.
The women was later picked up by a Hwange Local Board ambulance crew at night together with her two children aged six and nine and put up at Empumalanga Clinic.
She was taken to Five Mile Isolation Centre the following day where she’s currently under isolation.
