Avenel Ridge Alpacas A boutique coloured Alpaca Stud based in North Central Victoria. We are a stud that focuses on the development of quality white and coloured animals.

We currently use a combination of our own registered male and external males to improve our hird. We look forward to the addition of our own Light Brown and Medium Grey stud Males in the comming months.

First Seymour Show today not being the Convenor for a long time, so it was a very different feel to the show.

Was nice being able to kick back and relax and watch my kids show our animals in the show ring. I love watching my kids get involved and basically run our show team these days. Lily and Fletch even jumped to the dark side to help Matty out with his Suris. Lily was so pleased I caught it on camera.

We had some good results, 5 of our 6 placing (3 x Firsts and 2 x Seconds)and some good feedback. Was great to see some good friends and catch up on life in general and enjoy some amazing animals on display.

Will that be our last Seymour show and show forever? Time will tell.

Well farming or working with animals is never a dull experience. Friday we had the low of lows with one of our babydoll ewes having to be put down due to going septic from a dead lamb stuck inside the birth canal. Cervix never dilated. 😢

To the highs of the first lamb of the season hitting the ground. Lily’s first baby, a little ram lamb. It will be available at some point.
