I could hear this little one when I walked past the incubator so thought I would video it hatching for you all. Video went for over 5 minutes so I shortened it up

Lockdown day again. As you can see not a lot of eggs making it this far yet I have young roosters whom are just starting to do the job so hopefully we will see fertility pickup in the next few weeks. Pen 7 my silver laced Wyandotte rooster over silver and blue laced hens is on fire 100% fertility so far in both hatches. That is from day 1 eggs I have put in.🥚🐣🐥
I use laundry bags to seperate eggs so I know who’s who when they hatch. I also use the black draw liner on the bottom to stop the base being slippery avoiding things like splayed legs in the chicks.

Something new I am trying this year
I want to keep track of what pens and what rooster chicks are out of so instead of the annoying zippy tie or leg banding which I have done in the past I am trying toe punching. So far wasn’t bad my first time today trying it
You have to do it on day old chicks before that part goes harder.
It’s painless and doesn’t harm the chick.
