Do not fear the cumquat chutney! My poor little Spiced Cumquat is a shockingly slow seller when it really deserves to star in sandwiches (toasted, or not), on platters, with roast lamb or chicken or pork... or straight from the jar, which I do often. Not too sweet, not too sour; just right citrus, bright and warming.

The kiwifruit tangle is over 30 years old, as big as a minibus, and hadn't really fruited until Mr Pretty arrived... and fruited so well this year that there's lots to turn into jam. MR PRETTY'S KIWI-APPLE JAM, in fact!
