At our home, it’s not all about cows and bulls. We love where we live on the coast. To have a view like this is amazing and we are so thankful. Oh yes cows and bulls are out the other side of our house. It’s lovely to have a farm that is so close to the ocean, yet having a very productive seed stock farm developing on your door step facing the other way is so beautiful.

The Autumn bulls are really showing their genetic improvement. At 400 days they average 50 kilograms heavier than last year’s bull cohort at the same age. A number of these are sired by Alpine 38 Special who has been a true standout for passing on his excellent genetics as well as his enormous fleshing ability.

At Tolivar Angus we have focused on developing a farming system that makes a difference in every aspect. Having purchased the neighbouring property six years ago, we have transformed it to be a great place to raise Angus cattle on. We believe in improvement in every aspect of what we do in our stud. Our cows love going to the next paddock and we love to see the progress in such a short time.

Our commercial heifers all joined to bulls which we recently sold at our Autumn sale, calving in a short period between 15 July to 10th August. This ensures easy management of the mob, calf management and evenness of the entire herd. 👌

Our new Pathfinder Goal Keeper V409 has settled in extremely well! Having done some predicted matings, especially with our young Alpine Special, Dunoon Sunstone and Cluden Newry Uppercut heifers, we are excited to get some of his progeny on the ground. SMP24V409 will be used extensively within both our stud Autumn and Spring calving herds as we continue to improve our herds EBV’s.
