Introducing Dahlia ‘EF Painterly’ as one of our 2026 new release cultivars.

A perfect dahlia for lovers of blush pink or for wedding use. We especially like the varied and painterly effect of the pink on the white base. Like the colour was applied with a brush!

Still a miniature decorative size… but getting close to a small.

How beautiful is Dahlia ‘Winkie Cinnamon’! There are lots of treasured Winkie Dahlia cultivars out there as John Menzel was an excellent dahlia breeder, but this one is definitely one of our favourites from his stable to grow.

A large bloom with lots of presence in gorgeous golden warm tones, that almost have a coppery sheen. An excellent choice to arrange with other Autumn coloured blooms.

This eye catching collarette dahlia we are releasing this year is called ‘Bumble’ as the bumblebees 🐝 just loved to hang out and sleep in her petals each night. There is something about her bright magenta red petals that must be very attractive to the pollinators! Those flecked inner petaloids have so much personality too! A great dahlia to plant on mass in the garden for an eye-catching effect in the landscape.

Our next cultivar feature ahead of our upcoming sale one of last years releases ‘EF Downtown’.

We love this one for is pretty pointed petals and blend of pastel yellow to pastel pink. At different times and temperatures in the season the pink can be a bit darker and warmer. I’ve included another pic at the end to show the variation.

Dahlia ‘Granite Kylie’ is a new cultivar to our farm last season and we absolutely love her! Bred in QLD in 2012 and named after the soft pastel orange colours seen in the granite belt throughout that area. Growing in our cooler southern climate we find her colouring is blushed with darker salmon pink accents and can be quite varied and interesting across each individual bloom.

A lovely, tight decorative form with lots of flower buds coming constantly on the bush all season also makes it a winner in our books!

We were so relieved when the rain stopped last Friday so we could get cracking on the farm work again with the help of our wonderful Garden+Gossip volunteers!

Jobs on the list:
Remove the Lower Field fence and net and protect the sweet peas (great job Di and Jane 👌).
Lift plants to shorten 5 beds to make way for the new polytunnel.
Collect more Dahlia seed.
Cut back and label the dahlias in the tree field.
Remove the TF annuals.

Wow! What a productive day. So much achieved thanks to our wonderful crew!

Have you met the gorgeous Dahlia ‘Kelgai Ann’ yet? What a stunning waterlily form she is! So blousy, so romantic and lots and lots of flowers all season long. So beautiful!

Happy Winter! June is our month for highlighting some of our new releases and favourite Dahlias from our 2026 field collection ahead of our upcoming online tuber pre-sale…starting off with one of our 2026 New Release Dahlias…’EF Estelle’.

EF Estelle is a big and impressive dahlia, similar in form to EF Southerden but in a lovely watermelon peach with some gold tones and an attractive dark centre! Very good strong stems. Named after our beautiful daughter Milla Estelle who is now working in our business and doing a fantastic job!

We’re getting very close to our pre-sale now with final numbers getting sorted. We’ll be sharing the exact date and time with our newsletter subscribers so head to our website or IG bio link to sign up! This will be our biggest sale yet with lots of quality tuber stock available so we are excited to share it with you!

Ordering in our pre-sale secures your favourite cultivars if you are unable to attend our big on-farm Spring Sale in mid October where we will have our full range of tubers and cuttings for sale. Note: Pre-sale orders will be posted to customers in early October, once they come out of dormancy and eyes are showing.

We can post to most Australian states with the exception of WA. Still working out details to see if it will be possible for us to send to VIC under the new bio security regulations though. Stay tuned!
