Join us at four farms in one day at this week's Growing on the Rock event in Bishop's Falls!
Exploits Meadow Farms
Our main host farm for the day, starting with a meet and greet before diving into field equipment demonstrations with Adrian Reid of Joie de Vivre Farm (with OFCAF-NL), supported by Harvey & Company LTD.
We'll come back here later in the afternoon to hear Cedric MacLeod (MacLeod Agronomics) and Bradley Smith (Exploits Meadow Farms) talk rotational grazing and nutrient management practices.
We'll also have our evening shindig, the community connect, here from 6-8pm!
Mountain View Farm
We'll focus on NL-Living Lab's potato fertility trials with Kent Fudge (the farmer) and Dr. Vanessa Kavanaugh with GovNL. weather stations and fertigation. We'll talk weather stations and fertigation with Krishna Kaja, and then explore cover crops and have field equipment demos.
Tuck’s Bee Better Farm
Lunch time! We'll grab lunch at the cafe, and then talk NL-Living Lab with Rodney Reid, who will give us a research and program update.
Recon Development
This is where all the cranberries are! Corey Reid will share insights from the operation and talk about water and nitrogen management. This is a chance to explore the practical challenges and opportunities involved in a specialized operation like cranberry farming.
Huge thank you to our host farms, and we can't wait to see you there.
