Dates, peanut butter, grilled honey-butter bananas and chocolate shavings, all served on our Sourdough Vienna! Some might call this indulgent..and some might call it a mid-morning snack. 👀

Hot Cross Bun French Toast

Ingredients:

6 x COBS Hot Cross Buns, cut horizontally
2 large eggs
1/2 cup of milk
1 tsp of vanilla extract
1 tsp of sugar
1/4 tsp of salt
Butter or oil for frying
Optional toppings: syrup, fruit, powdered sugar, etc.

Instructions:

1. Beat together eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, and salt in a shallow dish.
2. Add a few of the butter cubes in a non-stick frying pan over medium-low heat.
3. While the pan is heating up, dip cut hot cross buns (cut-side down) into the French toast mix.
4. When the butter has melted and slightly browned, add the dipped hot cross buns cut-side to the pan. Cook for 30-45 secs or until French toast has nice golden colour, flip and cook for another 15-20 seconds.
5. Serve hot with desired toppings. Enjoy!
