The new girls have settled in well!
Siska (sorrel) and Juneau (palomino) came from the Jensen Ranch Rescue and we are loving having their goofy and sweet young spirits on the farm. It’s been a long time since I’ve had baby horses and they truly are special and good for the soul. We’ve begun basic training with leading/halters and they are both quick to learn and very friendly thanks to the great handling they had by Kendra Watt and the crew at Jensen Ranch. I’m so excited to see them grow up and to grow my training skills again as we go. The three sisters ❤️

Sand hill cranes resting on their migration route through the valley tonight.
Incredible and HUGE birds. Counted 3 pairs plus a tag-along.. So awesome to see!! Didn’t want to get any closer so they weren’t stressed. Too bad I don’t have a real camera.. but lucky that I know some folks that do 😉

It has been a wild, wet summer. I for one am grateful for the rain, and in some kind of tiny miracle, I have a beautiful garden, despite seriously soggy conditions. Apparently, the overload of chicken manure last year has translated into better things this year! 🤞🏻😂🙌
