Apparently, I did such a good job making this cake look imperfect… that my friends genuinely thought I was having a bad baking day. 💀😂

The funniest part? My clients LOVED it.

And honestly, fighting the urge to smooth those edges one… more… time… was harder than I’d like to admit. 😭

Well… that escalated quickly. 😂🤍

It’s been a few weeks since one little chocolate cake reel completely changed this little corner of the internet… and I think I’m finally processing what actually happened.

I posted it thinking maybe a few people would see it.

Somehow, millions of views later, thousands of you ended up here. Some for the chocolate cake, some for the Zelda music… and apparently quite a few of you ready to defend me from a bully who never actually existed. 😂

Still one of my favorite plot twists, btw.

But somewhere in the middle of all that chaos, something really beautiful happened.

You started cheering for me.

Complete strangers kept coming back to tell me, “You’re at 6K now!”… “8K!”… “16K!”… “25K!” 🥹

And while watching those numbers grow was completely surreal, that wasn’t the part I’ll remember most.

It was the kindness.

The people encouraging me to keep creating.
The small business owners, bakers and creators saying, “I feel this too.”
The people who simply saw a girl making a chocolate cake in her kitchen and decided to stay. 🤍

I started Capricho because I love creating beautiful things for people and being a tiny part of the moments they celebrate. I definitely didn’t expect one chocolate cake to introduce me to so many of you.

So whether you came for the cake 🍫, the Zelda music 🎶, the nonexistent bully 😂, or you somehow found me somewhere along the way…

Building a small business is basically trusting God’s timing… while also asking Him for updates every five minutes. 😂🤍

Some days are busy, some are quiet, and some make you question everything. But little by little, you learn to trust the season you’re in.

Still learning that part. 🤍

And they probably don’t realize how much those little things mean to a small business owner. 🥹😭

Reality: they get the scraps, leftover buttercream, extra filling… and somehow they’re still VERY happy about it. 🤭

Another year of memories.
