Our Friday night teens group finished the day with a ride into the sunset. Nothing in the world is quite as beautiful to me as seeing good kids on good horses having a good experience… no phones no drama no stress.

Welcome to Lauryn Rachel Performance Horses! I am a professional horse trainer specializing in Western performance, c**t starting, barrel racing and foundational horsemanship.

A graduate of the Olds College Equine Science – Western Horsemanship program, I have developed my horsemanship through years of riding, competition, clinics, and hands-on experience in a variety of professional programs. My experience includes Bar TT Cowhorse, Big 9 Outfitters, and TD Equine Veterinary Clinic, giving me a well-rounded background in performance training, c**t starting, ranch work, and equine health and soundness.

I have trained horses for private clients since 2020 and now operate full-time as an independent trainer. While I am best known for my involvement in barrel racing and women’s ranch bronc riding, my greatest passion is developing young horses with a strong, correct foundation that prepares them for whatever comes next.

In September 2026, I competed as one of four trainers—and the only female—in the 2026 Young Guns C**t Starting Challenge, hosted at Rocking Heart Ranch and presented by Horse Expo. With a challenging young horse, I made the finals on her fifth ride ever, successfully completing every obstacle and compulsory and finishing 3rd overall.

My training program is built around meeting each horse where they are and adapting to their individual personality, learning style, and physical ability. I prioritize strong foundations, softness, correct movement, body control, confidence, and a willing mind. I believe in developing a horse to its full potential without rushing the process or pushing beyond its mental or physical capacity.

My goal is to produce confident, capable, willing horses that can handle pressure and succeed both in and out of the arena. I continue to pursue education through lessons, clinics, competition, and mentorship to ensure my horsemanship and program are always evolving.

I have had the opportunity to work and ride with professionals including Matthew Stephen, Whitney Watson-Wilson, Tanis Hanson, Tanya Klippenstine, Victoria Johnstone, Shawn Seabrook, and Wendy Johnston, among many others.
