Come and take a moment to wander through autumn with us…

Where through the endless boreal forest, golden birches shine like constellations scattered across a darkened sky of spruce and fir.

Where the meadows have turned gold as we come into the peak days of autumn’s colours. For at the signal of the slower-rising sun, she is beginning to prepare herself for rest, knowing winter will soon arrive.

It is a season of preparation, but also one that asks us to stop for a moment and stand in awe of the beauty she brings with her.

When you finally catch what you’ve been chasing in this life, will it have been worth the life you spent pursuing it?

God, wealth, success, approval, relationships, comfort, goals. There are so many things we spend our lives chasing after.

Some are worth pursuing. Some have us convinced they are. And some keep us so busy chasing what comes next that we hardly notice the life we are living now.

We take nothing with us when we leave this world. Everything we worked so hard to gather will eventually belong to someone who never worked for it at all.

Maybe the question isn’t whether we will leave this life with everything we wanted.

Maybe it’s whether we spent it chasing what was worth having.

I wonder if the sea knows how beautiful she is. Or if she is far too busy dancing along the shore and chasing the tide to even consider it.

She graciously reflects the heavens back to themselves, yet never catches a glimpse of herself. Perhaps she has always been far too sure of who she is to need a reflection to tell her.

The beauty of knowing who you are, regardless of what the world thinks
