This wedding cake was inspired by the incredible one of my favorite cake artists. Her signature ruffle style always speaks to me — soft, organic, and full of emotion.

This design features two sides, front and back, each telling its own story — a romantic balance between texture and movement.

I created a Chinese-style wedding cake made entirely with edible materials. The design features a dominant red palette, symbolizing happiness and prosperity, with subtle touches of purple and green in the delicate details like butterflies.

I incorporated traditional Chinese elements, including a bridal headpiece and the “Yunjian”, a beautiful collar-like garment piece worn by women during the Ming and Qing dynasties, representing grace and elegance.

I also added a pankou (Chinese frog closure) — an ornamental garment fastening made from braided or corded material, featuring a decorative knot and loop. Traditionally used to secure clothing, the pankou also serves as a symbol of craftsmanship and cultural beauty, adding intricate detail to the overall design.
