MCB understood the assignment. 🍔🔥

We finally tried their smash burgers and they were SO good. Crispy edges, tons of flavour, and you can choose your burger size depending on how hungry you are. The kids and I went with the kids burgers while Iz tackled the medium.

And the fries? Perfectly golden with that crispy crunch. 🤌 Definitely a spot we'd come back to!

🌠 ALBERTA, GET READY FOR A SPECTACULAR NIGHT SKY!

One of the most anticipated meteor showers of the year is reaching its peak — and 2026 is shaping up to be an incredible year to see it. ✨

The Perseid meteor shower peaks overnight from August 12 into the early hours of August 13, with dark skies offering the possibility of spotting dozens of meteors — potentially up to 100 per hour under ideal conditions.

And there’s an extra reason this year could be special: 🌑 the New Moon means minimal moonlight, creating darker skies and better conditions for catching those fast, bright Perseid streaks.

📍 Watching from Edmonton or elsewhere in Alberta?

Your best bet is to get away from bright city lights, find a wide-open view of the sky, give your eyes some time to adjust to the darkness, and keep watching after midnight into the pre-dawn hours.

No telescope required. Just dark skies, some patience… and maybe a blanket. 🌌

And what a 24 hours for skywatchers — after today’s partial solar eclipse, Alberta could now be treated to a completely different celestial show overnight.
