I am so thankful that I have such well behaved spider mites. They attack something each and every year, and so far, they always seek out a trap crop, not my veggies! If you notice your plant leaves starting to look dull, deformed, wilty, or if there is webbing on the leaf nodes, make sure to check for these jerks.
I am sorry about the video quality, and it is too late to do another one, as this plant and all the mites have met their demise. Now, I absolutely adore spiders and would never harm one, but these guys aren't spiders at all, so they dont get my same adoration! 🕷

I often get asked how I decide what to create when making my dried veggie blends and stocks. Well, this right here is the very muse!
It all starts with an abundance of something that is in its prime, like these chive blossoms. These will get harvested throughout the season, freeze dried and added into one of my new mixes in September. One year a boatload of basil turned into my Pantry Pesto, waaay too many cucumbers turned into Tzatziki Mix, tons of greens became my Smoothie Blend, etc., etc. It is great fun concocting these as the growing season winds down, and it is never too early to start utilizing and saving the bounty whenever it presents itself. See what you can create with the abundance in your garden this summer!
